The holidays often bring up old heart break for people and we try, in vain to hide our tears and grief we feel in an effort to join in the celebration. How do we, with authenticity, experience the joy, peace and love this season attempts to provoke in us without over buying gifts or over eating foods or beverages we needn’t?
It’s all about our Heart to Heart connection with ourselves.
For some decades now, the number one cause of death in Americans is heart disease or heart attack. This condition is not just a simple matter of diet and exercise. That is the very superficial level of how to address this issue and how to prevent this dis-ease and potentially life threatening event.
Until 9-11, America had not since the Civil War experienced assault on our soil and yet, we still have had tremendous heart break, all of us, at one point or another through our upbringing regardless of socio-economic, religious or race affiliation. Our country has slowly become a nation of seller and consumer. Everywhere you turn there is someone trying to get something from us. On a most basic level our hearts just want to be free. We all love the phrase, “Home of the free and the land of the brave”. But are we free?
Our communication of who we are to ourselves first is the at the heart of our most basic communication problems.
There is so much chatter from the TV or the phone or computer or well meaning “advice givers” that we don’t have a chance to know our own hearts. We are hit with a firehose of information and advertisements of people, some well-meaning, to keep us informed and healthy, on a daily basis. How do we sort this out? How do we not get drawn into this vortex of distraction that leads us to never learn or forget who we are? It is from the heart’s energy that this sorting is done and it not done well when there is unresolved past pain literally living in our fascia/body-mind and around our DNA (epi-genetics).
In my first Shamanic healing series in 2000, I recall seeing a wall around my heart that seemed to also extend to around my entire being. We worked through the series of sessions and the wall got softer but didn’t come down. I tried to see it come down but it didn’t come down just because I consciously wanted it to. Sometimes, things can shift from a simple series of this type of work and sometimes, it requires a slower, more methodical piece by piece look at the facets of past events over months or years.
We live in a culture that has taught us to move fast and get instant results but our psyche’s don’t work like that. Just because you can perceive the acceleration of the universal energy does not mean that our physiology and mental processes need to follow. Yes, the frequency of the waves moving us all has increased but that just means that we must slow ourselves down to look at the facets of the bricks or events that will build our network of communication or wall of isolation. Once you have a better inner world communication network, things in life flow easier and things get done with less or no effort. When you slow down to take a longer look within, then things flow easier and sometimes, when necessary, faster.
How do we bring down the wall around our heart so we can better know ourselves?
Bringing the wall down means that the heart, the most tender part of us emotionally and physically, must be strengthened and perhaps even rebuilt in part. This requires us to first believe that it is possible to heal those unhealed, still-in-pain parts of our emotions. The best image I can give you of this is when someone speaks of a long deceased loved one and still sheds copious sad tears. Missing them and longing for them, is within our own hearts because we have unhealed aspects of our relationships with them and we have either misinformation or lack of information about what happens when they no longer inhabit a body. We have not come to peace with this transition and all it means for them and us. In my practice and in my life I have seen that most want to hold on this pain because they believe in some way that it honors their loved one or because it appears “normal” to do so.
Grief is a normal part of life but it also a transition and a transformational process. Grief leads us down the path to opportunity to find or fulfill our purpose for living our lives. We all suffer much loss in our lives and so like a snow ball rolling down a hill, we can accumulate quite a bit of unresolved pain by the time we are 30, 40 or 50 years old. Research and statistics show that life expectancy is decreasing rather than increasing and while you can attribute some of this to increasing toxins in our environment, our energy field, with the energy of our hearts at center stage, does not have to absorb those toxins. Resolving the “holes” or leaks in our heart’s energy field and that of our surrounding energy field is what fortifies us to not only protect ourselves from the outside pressure to absorb information OR toxins we do not want or need.
How do we learn to communicate better with our own hearts and to KNOW our own hearts and what they need to be free?
Your inner world holds the key. Your inner world is the energy aspect and of glue for your fascia-held unresolved pain and epi-genetics. It’s transformation is like changing the 0’s and 1’s of a computer program. It is NOT about reliving our pain of the past but transforming it using tools and skills you can at first experience and then learn to do for yourself.
We have been misled about our heart’s accumulated grief.
We have been told that our grief cannot be healed just lived with. We have been told that we must live with the memories of our days at war or with the memories of our parents fighting or the witness of an event that changed our lives. These memories while important to us can be softened and changed in perception so that they no longer act at blocks and bricks that create that wall around our hearts. The wall at first glance can feel good and protective but in the long run will keep us from the very things we want most in our lives.
The process of Inner World Work © or inner development/transformation does not have to involve re-experience of the trauma. Systems such as The One Brain® System or my ESRT®© (Epigenetic Stress Resolution Technique) are systems which, while a tear might roll down your face in release of the hurt, are designed to gently, slowly and at a pace that suits your whole being, adjust and rebalance the perception of the event. Then, we can remember our loved ones with a tear of joy rather than copious tears of sadness, hurt and despair. The numbers of other people out there utilizing similar systems and resources is growing so access is improving for those who chose to be free of the chains of their past pain.
Inner World Work © is about regaining self-to-self heart communication.
Communication is one of the most important things we do daily and if communication is blocked from self to self, in ways you are unable to see with your conscious mind, then you will meet with obstacles to having what you want. You might not feel heard by others or they might not hear what you are asking them. Communication could be blocked in many ways when your own heart is blocked, even if you are unaware of the block.
Once you can learn to use the Mirror of Relationships© to heal your heart so that the wall to self to self communication can be softened and taken down, which is the only way we can effectively and authentically and effectively communicate with the world, the inner peace, love and joy flow from you to others without it draining your vital energy AND understanding between you and your life and peeps can be productive and enjoyable.
I am now 18 years into my own focused Inner World Work© and inner development, and as such I have watched myself go from a profoundly protected (walled) inner being to an increasingly open and flowing being enabling me to become the person, I sensed, but did not know I was as a child and teen. All of us, not just some of us, have a unique purpose and it is my hope to assist all who desire it to remember who they are and find that unique and specific purpose and desire for life and it all begins with a Healing of our own Hearts.
My personal rock bottom occurred in 1999 but that was in response to the lack of supportive resources that could end the cycling of my inner pain and transform it one past event at a time, into perspective, love, joy and peace that now lives within each event making these events into gems that have shown me the undiscovered parts of me. Once this happens for someone, life becomes more joyful just to breathe in and out in each moment. Even the lemons of life become lemonade and shining examples of the best of who we were meant to be. This is not to say that life becomes an endless stream of perfection but the downs won’t be as far down and the recovery from those times is easier and faster.
In my practice over the past 11 years, I have seen so many people believe it is righteous to hold on to their pain like a life raft as they believe there is merit in martyrdom. It appears that perhaps religion or cultural beliefs have played a role in this process slowly wearing away at our ability to resurrect ourselves over and over from the ashes of life’s stressful events.
The beauty of life awaits you both inside you and out. Healing the heart is a profound yet simple matter of learning how to access the inner world and so it can begin to speak to you through your heart.
